Waterway Wonders!

Australia may be the driest inhabited continent on earth, but we are still lucky enough to have an amazing range of native freshwater species.

Australia’s Freshwater Species
will leave you in AWE!

From fascinating aquatic invertebrates and unique amphibians to incredible native fish and even water-adapted reptiles, this program aims to introduce audiences to the often-overlooked but incredibly important freshwater ecosystems of Australia. We’ll dive into the amazing ways our freshwater species have adapted to deal with living in a land ‘of drought and flooding rains’, and how living more sustainably can protect our rivers, creeks, lakes and billabongs for generations to come!
